Sony A6000 Field Test

Sony A6000 Field Test

Introducing the Sony A6000

Four years have passed since Sony launched its first NEX-5 mirrorless camera in tandem with its younger sister, NEX-3. Is this a big time for the photo market? Apparently big: after four years, not only a whole series of new models appeared - the system “grew” with a solid fleet of optics, expanded with full-frame cameras, acquired the possibility of expanding the functionality through applications ... Something else that happened was curious: the name of the system itself - NEX . Recently, Sony mirrorless cameras have the same name format as other system cameras of the company, without any prefixes. For example, the hero of our test today, a semi-professional compact camera with interchangeable lenses, is named Sony Alpha A6000. Check out the prices and offers of the Sony Alpha A6000.

The main features of the model:

  • 24-megapixel CMOS sensor format APS-C (23.5 x 15.6 mm);
  • hybrid autofocus with 179 sensors of phase detection on the matrix;
  • burst shooting of 11 frames / s with tracking autofocus;
  • 3-inch display with a resolution of 921600 pixels;
  • electronic OLED viewfinder with a resolution of 1440000 points;
  • Wi-Fi and NFC interfaces;
  • the ability to expand the functionality of the camera by installing applications;
  • built-in flash and hot shoe with Multi-Interface Shoe;
  • Full HD video shooting at up to 60 frames / s;
  • diffraction correction, zonal noise reduction, detail restoration technology.
This time I will test the camera in real field conditions. Together with four lenses, I put the Sony A6000 in a photo backpack and go for three days to London. Only three days to figure out all the settings, get comfortable with the interface and get great pictures from the trip - but I don’t agree on anything less. Can the camera handle it? We will see…
