8 ACCESSORIES YOUR SLR CAMERA NEEDS

A recurring question among those who begin to give their first steps in digital SLR photography is: "After the camera, what do I buy?" While it is true that the camera is the key piece, we must recognize that there is a long list of accessories and complements that can improve our photographic experience, making it much more comfortable and efficient. If you just bought a digital SLR camera and do not know what the next step is, do not miss this post. In it I will present the most useful accessories that your new camera needs.

8 ACCESSORIES AND ACCESSORIES FOR YOUR DSLR CAMERA

1- Objective: it is not a simple accessory, nor a complement either, but it is true that after the purchase of the initial kit (camera + basic lens) many wonder what objective they should acquire as a next step. The answer will depend exclusively on the type of photography you want to take. I recommend that you do not rush, and that you wait a little while. Take pictures with the basic kit, and see what needs you are having. With the passage of time you will realize if you like landscape photography, or if you prefer portraits and street thefts instead. Once you are clear about what type of photography you want to read, read this article on how to correctly choose a reflex lens . 2- Backpack: The backpack is an indispensable part of the material of every serious photographer. It is true that some camera kits come with an included bag, but a bag that barely fits the camera plus a single lens is not the same as a specialized backpack, with compartments, specially designed for trips, long walks and severe conditions of rain etc. In the market there are backpacks for all tastes. The one I use is one of the Lowepro BP 150 AW II brand (you can find it on Amazon for around eighty euros ). I like it for its resistance and its versatility, and you can carry it on several ways. 3- Flash: Depending on the type of photos you want to take, you may need an external flash. The flashes of the SLR cameras are very good, but have a limited range in distance and power. There are external flashes of different types, in the next articles we will analyze the types that exist. 4- Tripod: Essential. Well okay, a tripod can always be replaced by leaving the camera on a table or stand, but it is very cumbersome and is not the best solution. A tripod offers you the comfort of always having a stand with you, wherever you go. In addition, with a tripod your camera can adopt perspectives and angles (horizontal, vertical, degree of inclination, etc.) that with a table or chair would be simply impossible. 5- Filters: There are different types, I recommend that you do with at least 2 filters: a polarizing filter that will help you improve the contrast of the sky when photographing landscapes and avoid unwanted reflections, and another neutral one that you will use when You just want to protect the lens from dust and impurities without implying any effect or change in the photo. 6- Extra battery: Never buy batteries of Chinese origin or of unknown origin. Some counterfeit and very cheap batteries run the risk of causing us irreparable damage (and not just in the camera precisely). I recommend that you always buy original batteries, from specialized and well-known stores, even if that means paying 3 times the price of the cheap battery. However, most SLR cameras hold a long time with the battery they bring as standard. For example, I don't have an extra battery. The camera holds me not only one but several sessions. 7- Memory cards: Same recommendation: always look for original cards. It is very easy to fake them so it will cost you to be sure that they are original, but at least try. Here the risk is not that they explode but that they spoil you and you have to run out of the photos of the trip or event. A good way not to risk is instead of having a single 16 or 32 GB card, better to have several memory cards of 2, 4 or at most 8 GB, no more. In this way if one is damaged the rest of the photos will be safe. 8- Remote shutter: Your camera probably already has a delayed shutter of 2; 5 or 10 seconds, but I assure you that there is nothing like a remote trigger. This tool allows you to shoot from afar, several times, as many times as you want. It is usually very useful for various situations, the most common are self-portraits and long exposure photos. This is all from my side today. I hope that, as always, this reading has been useful for you. In the end it is true that one could live without these accessories, and even with a cheap and rudimentary camera. Remember that the photo is not taken by the camera, you make it
