CANON 100D: A GREAT “FIRST SLR CAMERA”

CANON 100D: A GREAT “FIRST SLR CAMERA”

Do you go all day with your mobile phone taking photos but no matter how good a camera it has, it seems insufficient to you? Are you discovering with your compact camera that you like photography, that you are not bad at it and that you would like to go a step further? Have you gotten hooked on the Photographer's Blog and want to put the advice we give you into practice and participate in the weekly challenges but your lifelong camera isn't working for you?
If you have thought about buying your first SLR camera but are wondering which one to choose, today's article is for you.
In the world of photography there is a wide variety of cameras, not all are suitable for everyone. You don't need a professional camera, at least for now, why spend a fortune? Nor does that mean that you have to be content with an extremely basic SLR camera with very little functionality.

In today's article I present a good candidate to be your first SLR camera: the Canon 100DIt is a camera designed for the amateur photographer, it offers features comparable to those of superior cameras, combined with an extremely attractive price .. Let's see what this camera has. And if you need to answer any questions regarding Canon, its types of cameras, mounts, etc., don't miss this guide that we have prepared for you.

EXTERNAL FEATURES OF THE CANON EOS 100D

  • Those of us who have SLR cameras have a very recurring complaint: the weight. Most of us who leave our cameras at home only to miss them later generally do so for this very reason, the nonsense that these devices weigh. The Canon EOS 100D solves this problem as it is a very compact SLR camera, it weighs relatively little, about 400 grams. (the body), which gives it an advantage that very few SLRs have. I wouldn't want to rush it but I would say that it is the lightest SLR on the market.
  • Buttons and controls very comfortable to manipulate. A camera full of buttons that you can hardly access is useless. It seems silly but believe me, you usually stop using many features of an SLR camera for the simple and ridiculous reason that the button requires a bit of effort to reach. The Canon 100D performs very well in this regard. All buttons are perfectly accessible, making it easy to use the camera to its full potential.
  • TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Here I tell you the most important technical characteristics of the Canon 100D, and above all, how these characteristics will help you to take advantage of your photographic hobby:

  • 18 megapixels.  With this resolution you can make enlargements on paper and with maximum quality of a size of up to 44×29 cm without noticing any loss of quality. Maybe even more.
  • Sensor. Despite being one of the cheapest SLRs on the market, its sensor is the same as that of the Canon 700D, a supposedly superior (and more expensive) model.
  • Touch screen. It has a large, easy-to-use touch screen, from which you can operate the menu, zoom with a two-finger gesture, or even point and shoot (just like on smartphones). If you are more "traditional" you can also manage the camera menu from the buttons, like always.
  • Video.  The Canon 100D allows you to record high-quality videos in Full HD, with a maximum duration of up to 29 min 59 s each video, and with a maximum of 4 GB. From there, a new file is generated. It allows, in manual mode, to control the aperture and ISO values and also allows you to focus and follow a subject that you decide.
  • It incorporates a guide to help you in your learning , in case you are completely new to the world of SLR photography.
  • 9 focus points. It uses all nine points to focus precisely even when the subject is not centered.
  • Capture the action. Quickly monitor moving subjects, ideal for sports photography, or children (we already know that they can move a lot... ? ).
  • ISO up to 12800 for photos and 6400 for video. Which means that you can get very good photos in fairly regular light conditions. Between 100 and 800 we don't have to worry about noise at all. Up to 3200 it holds up well, albeit with some noise, but it can save you from low-light situations without the need to use artificial lighting.
  • Intelligent Automatic Scene Mode. It incorporates an automatic scene mode (landscapes, children, close-ups, portraits... and even one for food! ) that help improve your photos according to the moment, establishing the most appropriate settings automatically while you learn to get the most out of it. This is ideal for beginners.
  • Creative filters. It has several filters so you can unleash your creativity (black and white, fisheye, watercolor, oil...) and you can take an image with and without a filter simultaneously to choose the one you like best.
  • Battery. Allows you to shoot between 350 and 400 times if you do not use Live View mode.
  • TEST PHOTOS

My advice: never buy a camera without first looking at some sample photos taken with it. So you know what you're going to get. Here are some sample photos taken with the Canon 100D:

    VALUATION AND PRICE

You just have to see the assessment that other buyers make of the Canon 100D. On sites like Amazon they rate it with a very high note. 4.5 stars out of 5 is not bad.

The price of the camera is about 500 Euros on Amazon.es.

    CONCLUTION

The Canon 100D is a camera with plenty of features for a beginner photographer but it will not limit your creativity or your learning, because you can grow with it. I find its price very affordable compared to other SLR cameras, very comfortable to handle and transport.

I hope this information has been useful to you and above all it has clarified some doubts. If you still have any, you already know that you can leave your comment and we will do our best to help you. Thank you and enjoy your possible next reflex camera! ?
