NIKON D7000: THE IRRESISTIBLE, BEAUTIFUL AND SEDUCTIVE

Just as irresistible, beautiful and seductive is her sister, the Nikon D7200 , but more up-to-date and much easier to find. Do not miss it under any circumstances, you will love it

Although the Photographer's Blog is normally aimed at a beginner and amateur user type, I know that among my readers there are more than one (and one) who is taking this hobby very seriously, people who want to get AWESOME photos, people whose The goal is to achieve difficult jobs to distinguish from those of a professional photographer. Hipsters go If this is not your case, if you are happy with your compact camera, bridge or basic SLR, if you are one of those who always shoot in automatic mode and are happy then it is fine, you can leave the reading at this point, this post is probably not precisely for you If, on the other hand, you identify yourself with any of the following symptoms: - You have been wanting to buy a good SLR camera for some time and you still do not decide because everyone you have seen is missing something. - You take time with a basic SLR camera and you feel that you need something more powerful , something that gives you more freedom, you feel you want to stop running and start having "wings." - It frustrates you the fact of throwing you an entire afternoon in a difficult photo session and then discover that the memory card has been spoiled improperly and that you will have to repeat the session (or trip, which can be worse). - You would love to be able to take photos literally under the rain or in a dusty environment but you fear that your camera will be damaged. .. if you have identified with any of these symptoms then read on, today's article will come as a ring to your finger.

THE BEAUTIFUL AND SEDUCTIVE NIKON D7000

I will not go with more delays, by now you must have guessed (at least the title) that the famous Nikon D7000 is the solution to all those problems that I had listed before. In this article I will explain why it is a great SLR camera, why features and functions stand out, why it is a powerful and seductive camera, how the Nikon D7000 can make your life easier, how this camera can save you from real disasters photographic and why I chose it as my personal option.

TO WHOM

The Nikon D7000 is aimed at a variety of profiles:
    • Amateur users who look absolutely for the best in terms of performance: I have always recommended the Nikon D3100 or the D5100 as the first option for those looking for a good price and ease of use, but the benefits of the D7000 exceed (with huge difference) the benefits of any Another SLR camera for amateurs, whether from Nikon or the competition, doesn't matter. Below you can see the most outstanding features, we really talk about a "beast" in terms of power and performance.
    • Photographers taking their first steps in the professional world (portraits, reports, weddings, communions, etc.): The Nikon D7000 is halfway between amateur cameras and professional cameras. Due to the very high price of fully professional SLR cameras (such as Full-Frame, which run over 3,000 euros) the D7000 is a very attractive option for those who want to embark on a professional career but investing in a more or less affordable body .
  • Other profiles such as journalists, for example, will also benefit from the benefits of the D7000 since its characteristics make it a practical camera to take everywhere and with which we can cover a wide variety of photographic situations with great agility. I explain this later.

THE ORIGIN OF THE D7000

So that you get a little bit, the D7000 is now the most advanced of the Nikon brand SLR cameras made for the amateur user, although some consider it to be semi-professional. Within the Nikon evolution chain, the D7000 surpasses its little sisters the D3100 and the D5100. The D7000 was actually created as a substitute for the mythical D90 (one of the SLRs as the best satisfaction index among users). As if that were not enough, Nikon at the time of taking out the D7000 did not limit itself to making it a natural evolution of its predecessor D90, but on top of that and to everyone's surprise he put some odd characteristic of totally professional SLRs like the D300s).

OUTSTANDING FEATURES, FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS

Let's see what the D7000 has that makes it special:
    • 2 memory card slots: We have all pulled our hairs once to see how our photo shoot went to waste because suddenly the memory card has stopped working. Avoiding this type of situation is easy with the D7000: it allows us to use 2 memory cards at the same time (it has 2 slots) allowing us to save the photos on one card and an automatic and immediate backup on the second card. So if suddenly one of the 2 stops working we still have the other.
    • Sealed against the inclemency of nature: Although I doubt that it can be submerged in water (because of the pressure) the truth is that the D7000 is a sealed chamber and therefore resistant to rain, dust and moisture. You can take pictures with her under the rain, literally. You only have to worry about catching a cold, don't worry about the camera. Take care of yourself.
    • ISO: The bad thing about ISO is that the higher the ISO, the more noise we get in the photos. This with the D7000 does not happen unless we reach excessively exorbitant ISO values. With my little D60 I remember that I could not go over ISO 400 because that annoying noise began to appear in the photos. With the D7000 the noise threshold is further. I tried shooting photos at ISO 1,000 and the amount of noise was still minimal and imperceptible.
    • 6 FPS: The number of photos that the D7000 is capable of shooting in burst mode is 6 photos per second. This can be useful depending on the type of photography you are dedicated to but it is very useful in sports photography for example or in contexts where we need to quickly capture many photos in a row.
    • 39 focus points: With 39 focus points this machine can boast excellent autofocus capabilities. With 39 points the autofocus is easier, faster and more precise.
  • Timelapse / Intervalometer: For Timelapse lovers, the camera has a built-in intervalometer, which means we can program it to take a photo every x time automatically. Collecting these photos later we can obtain timelapse video jewels like the one included below. (I recommend seeing full screen in HD to be)
    • Quick and agile access to all the necessary functions: The camera is full of physical buttons. This imposes at first, but then it becomes a delight: because thanks to it we can almost do without the menu and thus access and modify almost any adjustment of these frequent ones that we normally modify: white balance, measurement, ISO, quality, and a Endless settings, all accessible through a dedicated quick access button. It is one of the characteristics that I like most about the D7000, because this over time gives you agility and speed, you get the buttons and already with your eyes closed in an almost mechanical and unconscious act you are changing everything that is going if necessary, without having to visit the menu. I love.
    • Possibility to customize 2 buttons: As if that were not enough for the previous point, in addition to that the D7000 offers 2 additional buttons fully customizable. That is, buttons that we can assign to the functions and settings that we want.
  • Customizable modes U1, U2: In addition to the typical manual and semi-manual modes M, A, S, P and automatic, the D7000 allows us to save our favorite (or more frequent) settings under a dedicated mode called U1 (User 1) and U2 (User two). In this way we will always have them within reach by simply turning the mode dial.
These are some of the characteristics that made me fall in love with this jewel of reflex photography. Obviously I skipped all that of High Definition Video, connection to external microphone, Liveview with autofocus included, etc. for considering them minor details. Anyway, the camera is equipped with hundreds of options through which we can customize it to our liking.

OPINIONS

To probe a little if there were more people happy with the D7000 or is that my fascination for it was unfounded yesterday I launched a question on Twitter and the truth is that the answers I received confirmed my suspicions:

PRICE

Here are some links to reliable sites where I usually buy and that usually offer all the guarantees. The D7000 has a fully justified price if we take into account the impressive amount of benefits it brings. I would not recommend it to someone who shoots 4 photos every 2 months but if you are looking for continuity in your photographic project in the medium and long term I assure you that it will be one of the best investments you have ever made.
