2018 smartphones
Almost all modern smartphones, including affordable models, are now equipped with a huge number of useful options to make life easier for the user. At the disposal of such devices, in most cases, there is a good camera for taking pictures and recording videos, productive hardware stuffing, high-quality screens and much more. However, one of the most important parameters of a smartphone - the battery - often remains in the background.
The owner of a device with a small battery is forced to constantly recharge his device or use external energy sources, which, you see, is not always convenient, especially on long trips. However, there is a way out of this situation - on the market you can find a considerable number of models with high-capacity batteries (from 4000 mAh and above) that provide a long life from a single charge. There are similar solutions both in the initial and in the middle segment, and you can familiarize yourself with the most interesting long-lived models below.
Huawei Y9 (2018)
Among the variety of models, Huawei does not yet have a device that would be positioned as the “longest-playing smartphone of the brand”. However, there are a number of devices that combine not only a good hardware base and attractive design, but also a battery with a good margin in battery life. One of these was the recently launched Huawei Y9 in our market - an almost complete copy of last year's Honor 7X, but with a more capacious 4000 mAh battery that allows the smartphone to last up to two days in active mode.
In other parameters, we have a typical representative of the mid-budget segment of Huawei: in the all-metal case of the device there is an elongated 5.93-inch Full HD + display with an aspect ratio of 18: 9, a HiSilicon Kirin 659 chip, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage (expandable with a microSD card up to 256 GB), rear fingerprint scanner and dual-module cameras in front and rear. The main one got sensors at 13 and 5 megapixels, and the front one at 8 and 2 megapixels, respectively. Both cameras have the ability to shoot portrait photos with blurring the background.
Nokia 2.1
At the end of May, the Finnish company HMD Global held a presentation in Moscow, where it introduced several new Nokia smartphones, among which was the updated Nokia 2 budget employee of the 2018 model year. The device was called Nokia 2.1, and its main advantage, like its predecessor, is a battery with a high capacity level of 4000 mAh.
The battery has become a little less (100 mAh) than Nokia 2, but it is still a very impressive figure, and the manufacturer promises up to 2 days of continuous operation. Moreover, the device operates on the basis of Android 8.1 Go Edition, which is optimized for entry-level devices, which in itself guarantees low power consumption. As for the filling, Nokia 2.1 evolved a little: frontal stereo speakers appeared, the HD-screen grew from 5 to 5.5 ”diagonally, and the low-powered Snapdragon 212 processor gave way to the more modern and productive Snapdragon 425. The cameras remained the same - in front is a simple five-megapixel sensor, and the main photo tool uses an eight-megapixel module with a single LED flash and the ability to record video in 720p quality. The amount of RAM is a modest 1 GB, and the constant - 8 GB. Supported microSD memory cards (up to 128 GB).
ZTE Blade A6 Max
ZTE Blade A6 Max is another affordable device with high autonomy, which is achieved not only due to the capacious battery (4000 mAh), but also thanks to the software features of the OS, which help in moderate power consumption. These features of the system include a special economical mode, when activated, underutilized applications complete their processes, and when the screen fades, running programs go into the background. Also, the device is able to automatically turn off a number of functions at low charge, leaving only the most necessary tasks, for example, calls, available.
In fact, the ZTE Blade A6 Max is an affordable solution for unpretentious users who need a good battery. This is confirmed by the characteristics represented by a 5.5-inch HD-display, a Snapdragon 210 chip, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of permanent memory, as well as a simple eight-megapixel camera with autofocus. We also note the presence of an LTE module, a microSD card slot and an attractive case design. In addition to this, a nice bonus is the ability to recharge other devices through an OTG cable.
ASUS ZenFone Max M1 (ZB555KL) (3/32 GB)
ASUS ZenFone Max M1 (ZB555KL) is the youngest version of the new ZenFone Max Pro M1, so both devices are very similar to each other. They are united by a common concept, availability and battery with increased capacity, and the main distinguishing feature was the technical equipment.
In the usual ZenFone Max M1, in comparison with the Pro version, the filling of the metal case is simpler, and it is also slightly smaller due to the smaller diagonal of the display (5.5 ”versus 5.99”). In addition, there is another working resolution (HD + instead of Full HD +), but the wide 18: 9 format is preserved. The battery also has more modest options compared to the ZenFone Max Pro M1. However, even 4000 mAh for a budget device is quite a lot, especially since the smartphone supports fast charging and is equipped with PowerMaster technology, which is responsible for energy saving and ensuring stable battery operation. The heart of the device was the Snapdragon 430 chip, supplemented with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of permanent memory. As the main camera, a bunch of 13 and 8 megapixel modules was used,
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (4/64 GB)
Like Huawei, Xiaomi also boasts a versatile smartphone, balancing well on the verge of performance and energy efficiency - this is the new Redmi Note 5 Pro.
Redmi Note 5 Pro is a sturdy middle-class smartphone, every detail in which is 100% consistent with the declared value, and somewhere even surpasses it. The smartphone has almost everything you could wish for today: a frameless screen (5.99 ”, 18: 9, Full HD +), a dual main camera (12 + 5 MP, F1.9 / F2.0), an unlock function for face, a relatively high amount of memory (4/64 GB), as well as one of the best in its category of processors (eight-core Snapdragon 636). It is impossible not to mention the appearance, which, with all its simplicity, looks quite modern - thanks to the all-metal shell and the vertically placed unit of the main camera, reminiscent of the iPhone X. As for the battery, its capacity is 4000 mAh - not a record, but such indicators are enough. so as not to think about recharging during the day.
BQ 5206L Balance
Among devices with high-capacity batteries, there are not only mid-level devices worth 15–20 thousand rubles, but also very affordable models. Among them - the domestic company BQ with its fresh Android-smartphone BQ 5206L Balance.
You should not expect a miracle from him in terms of basic specifications. Everything is very standard here. The key stuffing is represented by a 5.2-inch HD display (naturally, 16: 9), a MediaTek MT6737V quad-core chip with a clock frequency of 1.25 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of permanent memory, a microSD slot, as well as a couple of very meager 13 and 8 megapixel cameras (main and front), which are also interpolated from 8 and 5 megapixels, respectively. Although they buy such devices, it’s clearly not for photo and video shooting. But over time, everything is fine - a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh combined with simple iron makes it possible to use all the charms of a smartphone for 3 days from a single charge.
ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 (ZB601KL)
ASUS continues to strengthen its Zenfone Max line of smartphones, and most recently introduced another model from this series - the Zenfone Max Pro M1 (ZB601KL). Traditionally, for a brand, devices with the Max prefix in the name receive a high level of autonomy. And this time, the manufacturer did not save on battery capacity, endowing the device with an impressive 5000 mAh battery.
According to ASUS, a battery pack of this size is enough for 25 hours of continuous video playback, 200 hours of music listening and more than 40 hours of talk on 3G networks. At the same time, the smartphone also supports accelerated charging technology, which allows you to charge it up to 100% in 2 hours 40 minutes. The rest of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 also did not disappoint: a high-quality 5.99-inch IPS-display 18: 9 format with Full HD + resolution, an eight-core Snapdragon processor 636, 3 or 4 GB of RAM (with 32 or 64 GB of storage, respectively) The main dual-module camera is 13 + 5 megapixels, an eight-megapixel front camera, a dual SIM card slot and a fingerprint scanner. Operating System - Android 8.1 Oreo.
Blackview P6000
The most interesting smartphones with an emphasis on survivability can be found in Chinese manufacturers of the second tier, which literally without stop punching more and more amazing devices. We left absolutely extreme devices for dessert, but for now we offer you to get acquainted with the Blackview P6000 - an Android smartphone that has a battery of as much as 6180 mAh.
It would seem that a device with such a battery simply must be thick, but this is not so: the thickness of the Blackview P6000 is 9.8 mm, which is not much higher than the average smartphone. Externally and technically, this device looks quite decent. The case is metal, and the back panel is made of curved glass, which gives the device more sophistication and attractiveness. Under the hood is a very powerful eight-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor, 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory, a main camera with two sensors of 21 and 0.3 megapixels (useful options include shooting with a shallow depth of field, “beautiful” and RAW- mode), an eight-megapixel frontal selfie module, a fingerprint sensor (in the home key) and a USB Type-C connector. The screen, unfortunately, is not frameless, however 5,
OUKITEL K10
We have already considered smartphones with built-in batteries with a capacity of 4000, 5000, and also 6000 mAh and, it would seem, there simply cannot be more impressive characteristics in the class of such compact devices. But they are. The Chinese company OUKITEL has become one of the few manufacturers who bothered to put a battery with a “laptop” appetite of 11,000 mAh into a smartphone!
The result is truly impressive. At the same time, the OUKITEL K10 seems not just a super-autonomous device, but one of the devices of premium brands, like the Tonino Lamborghini. The shell of this smartphone really looks expensive (materials - magnesium alloy, glass and leather), but you can determine its direction by considerable weight (283 g) and thickness (13.5 mm). The device is designed primarily for men. In addition to the beautiful “wrapper” and the 11000 mAh battery with support for fast charging, the OUKITEL K10 stands out with its decent iron. It features an elongated six-inch Full HD + 18: 9 display, MediaTek Helio P23 processor, as much as 6 GB of RAM, a 64-GB drive, a fingerprint scanner, a USB Type-C connector, as well as dual main and front cameras (21 + 8 megapixels) and 13 + 8 megapixels, respectively).
DOOGEE BL12000 Pro (128 GB)
This material ends with the most “awesome” smartphone of all presented here - DOOGEE BL12000 Pro. As a matter of fact, already by one name it is clear what distinguishes this smartphone from others. Of course, this is a battery with a record capacity of 12,000 mAh, allowing the device to work for more than 40 days in standby time! Only the Energizer Power Max P16K Pro can compete with such a record holder, but at the moment this “monster” is still a prototype, and DOOGEE can be bought right now.
Compared with the same OUKITEL K10, this smartphone is much more like ordinary “civilian” smartphones. It has a more restrained appearance, slightly resembling some Honor devices due to the mirrored rear panel. As for the rest of the equipment, the DOOGEE BL12000 Pro is also noticeably ahead of any of the above devices: it has a six-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18: 9, a dual main camera with 16 and 13 megapixels, MediaTek's Helio P23 chipset , 128 GB storage, 6 GB of RAM, as well as a wide-angle 16 MP selfie camera with a 130 ° lens. At the bottom there is a USB Type-C port through which the smartphone is fully charged in 4 hours thanks to Fast Charge technology.
