Disadvantages? Like the vast majority of wide-angle lenses, it produces some distortion around the edges of the frame, but it's nothing you really need to worry about. The focus motor built into this lens also leaves a bit to be desired as it is somewhat slow and noisy. However, not many wide-angle lenses have a built-in focus motor. You should also bear in mind that, because it is a wide-angle "zoom" lens, the possibilities for photographs and the variety of photos that you can achieve with this lens are multiplied.
