WEEKLY CHALLENGE 137: UNDERGROUND

WEEKLY CHALLENGE 137: UNDERGROUND

Today I bring you an underground challenge. literally. You will have to go down a few meters below the earth's surface to participate, do you feel like it?

HOW DOES IT WORK? (REMINDER)

Every week I will propose a new challenge , it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photograph and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog, putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. The themes will be varied, from portraits to Macro photography, going through landscapes, black and white photography, or babies. The topics will be proposed on Fridays , so that you have the whole weekend to work on them. You will have one week to upload your photograph (one photo per participant), until Thursdayof the following week. On Thursday I will update the article with the photo that has captivated me the most and on Friday I will propose a new topic so that you have the whole weekend to capture your images, and so on…

WEEKLY CHALLENGE 137: UNDERGROUND (FROM 11/27/2015 TO 12/03/2015)

Perhaps the first thing that comes to mind is a photograph of the subway. Well, that's also true, of course, in fact, the subway is a great place to take pictures, you just have to go to any Flickr-type gallery to check it out. But I want to go further, because underground there are tunnels, caves, wells, underground cities, cellars, caverns, mines, cenotes... Underground nature is a wonderful world to discover, don't you think?

The challenge is to achieve a great photograph in any of these places. Light management is important, since it is understood that sunlight hardly reaches underground, so you will have to use artificial light. You can take the opportunity to use a wide angle or shoot in black and white, in color, use natural framing, light as a creative element or whatever you want. We put the theme, creativity you. But show us how good you are at taking photos as you tell us what life is like down there. I'll wait for you!

As usual, to participate in this week's challenge upload your photo to the Facebook wallfrom the Photographer's Blog:  In the photo description please mention the keyword “Underground Challenge” followed by a title of your choice .

ALTERNATIVE MEANS TO PARTICIPATE

For those of you who are not from Facebook, I have enabled new social networks to participate.

  • Flickr: Accessing the Photographer's Blog Group Wall and uploading the photo directly. Give your photo a caption and be sure to mention “Underground Challenge” in it.
  • Twitter: uploading the photo directly to Twitter with the hashtag #RetoBajoTierraBdF

Happy photography.

UPDATE

I leave you with this week's summary gallery (not suitable for claustrophobic readers ? ):

This week the mention is for "The tunnels of life", some roots that have been captured underground, uploaded by Julio Sánchez although signed by Lola Santos, what a mess, right? But more involved are these roots that seek their hole under the earth's surface. Although it is not a spectacular cave like other images in the gallery, I like this perspective that at most we have seen in a drawing but it is not usual to see it live or in a photo. I also like wet glass, because the water, in addition to giving a touch of freshness to the image, adds the essence that every plant needs to live. The chromatic harmony is very pleasant, the lines that form the roots and the stem guide the gaze, attracting the viewer's attention, and the horizon line is perfectly placed in the upper third to give prominence to the subject at hand, which remains underground. Congratulations Lola (and/or Julio?) and thanks for participating once again in the challenge (which I already know you are regulars;) )!
