Numismatics is the study and collecting of coins, paper money, and medals. Is it among your hobbies? If it's not, the photo sure is (that's why you're reading this) so I'm counting on you for the challenge, right?
HOW DOES IT WORK? (REMINDER)
Every week I will propose a new challenge , it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photograph and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog, putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. The themes will be varied, from portraits to Macro photography, going through landscapes, black and white photography, or babies. The themes will be proposed on Fridays , so that you have the whole weekend to work on them. You will have one week to upload your photograph (one photo per participant), until Thursdayof the following week. On Thursday I will update the article with the photo that has captivated me the most and on Friday I will propose a new topic so that you have the whole weekend to capture your images, and so on…
WEEKLY CHALLENGE 138: NUMISMATICS (FROM 12/04/2015 TO 12/10/2015)
Numismatics is a good subject for you to practice macro photography, although if it is not what you fancy the most, don't worry, it is not essential that it be a macro. Any (cured) image that has to do with coins, medals or paper money and its collecting will do.
The important thing is that you take the opportunity to practice photography, that's why we're here ? Look for an interesting composition, play with the pattern effect or depth of field. Show us the coins or their collectors. You can do investigative work and show it in some way in your photography, like documentary photography. You choose, compose, shoot and we enjoy your work.
As usual, to participate in this week's challenge upload your photo to the Facebook wallfrom the Photographer's Blog: In the description of the photo, please mention the keyword “Numismatic Challenge” followed by a title of your choice .
ALTERNATIVE MEANS TO PARTICIPATE
For those of you who are not from Facebook, I have enabled new social networks to participate.
- Flickr: Accessing the Photographer's Blog Group Wall and uploading the photo directly. Give your photo a caption and be sure to mention “Counter Challenge” in it.
- Twitter: uploading the photo directly to Twitter with the hashtag #RetoNumismáticaBdF
Happy photography.
UPDATE
I leave you with this wonderful gallery summary of the fantastic photos that you have sent this week. Thank you!!
And this week the featured photo is (drumroll): Gonzalo Escamilla's self-portrait. If you have ever tried to take a self-portrait (seriously, not stretching out your arm like Inspector Gadget and/or with your mobile) you will know how difficult it is to focus well, especially to hit the focus with your eyes and with such a shallow depth of field. If you don't know, I'm telling you, it's very difficult. That's why his image seems to me worthy of being featured. For this reason, for the quality of the photography, for the originality with which it shows the coin, for the composition, for the sharpness, for going a little beyond the rules with the format, for fearlessly cutting, for the adequate lighting and because I think it's a fun photo as well as profound, because dear readers, let's face it, money blinds us. Congratulations Gonzalo!
