This week the challenge is about lines, curves, straight lines, horizontals, verticals, for all tastes!
HOW DOES IT WORK? (REMINDER)
Every week I will propose a new challenge , it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photograph and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog, putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. The themes will be varied, from portraits to Macro photography, going through landscapes, black and white photography, or babies. The topics will be proposed on Saturdays, so that you have the whole weekend to work on them. You will have one week to upload your photograph (one photo per participant), until Friday of the following week. On Friday or Saturday I will update the article with the photo that has captivated me the most and I will propose a new topic, and so…
WEEKLY CHALLENGE 84: LINES
A line is a sequence of points. That is clear to us. And that there are curved, straight, diagonal, horizontal or vertical lines, too, right? What is not clear to me is if you know what the lines can manage to transmit in a photograph, for this, our colleague Alexa dedicated an entire article, so that you could learn to master the use of lines in photographic composition .
This week we want you to transmit through the lines, to guide our gaze, to create depth, dynamism, chaos, order, or whatever you want, but always using lines. Also, I would like to add that you do not limit yourself to photographing a series of lines, try to make sense of what you capture, and get a good photo taking into account other factors, such as light , color or black and white , or depth field . Yes, I know I'm a bit demanding ? , but it's for your own good, this is the way to learn!
As usual, to participate in this week's challenge upload your photo to the Facebook wallfrom the Photographer's Blog: In the photo description please mention the keyword “Forced Perspective Challenge” followed by a title of your choice.
ALTERNATIVE MEANS TO PARTICIPATE
For those of you who are not from Facebook, I have enabled new social networks to participate.
- Flickr: Accessing the Photographer's Blog Group Wall and uploading the photo directly. Give your photo a caption and be sure to mention “Lines Challenge” in it.
- Twitter: uploading the photo directly to Twitter with the hashtag #RetoLíneasBdF
Happy photography.
UPDATE
One more week the galleries have been filled with your photographs, thank you for putting so much enthusiasm and enthusiasm into this proposal. Your participation is always necessary and important. This is a small sample of everything you have sent us, as you can see, you can get lines in the most unexpected places and in multiple ways!
This week I have loved the photography of Rafa Cantos. In a sea of straight, horizontal, vertical, and even diagonal lines, suddenly... some hands that appear, that completely break the monotony of lines, that add a note of color to the monochromatic gray of the rest of the image and that they also add warmth to a cold, lonely, even sad scene. In a large composition, the lines, despite being straight and forming part of a geometric whole, transmit a sensation of chaos, like the chaos of cities, of the day to day that engulfs us, as it does with the person "owner" of those hands that try to hold on to something so as not to sink completely into this ocean of concrete and ash color. Some hands that can be the hope of a world invaded by buildings and the hand of man that consumes and destroys everything. Some hands that fight to stay afloat and that could be those of anyone who resists being an accomplice to human unconsciousness and its effects. Congratulations, Rafa, for that "photographic eye" and for knowing how to surprise with such a simple image!
