There are doors that open new horizons, others that close opportunities, doors that are open, closed, fitted or ajar, solid or flimsy, large or small, wide or narrow, high or low, made of iron or wood, green, blue, red or various colors. Old or new, beautiful or ugly, a door is a change, a lock can be a goal, but it will always mean the passage to somewhere. With this challenge, the step will be to practice, the basis of your learning.
HOW DOES IT WORK? (REMINDER)
Every week I will propose a new challenge , it is a topic that you will have to capture in a photograph and upload it to the Facebook page of the blog, putting in the description the keyword that I will indicate for each topic. The themes will be varied, from portraits to Macro photography, going through landscapes, black and white photography, or babies. The topics will be proposed on Saturdays, so that you have the whole weekend to work on them. You will have one week to upload your photograph (one photo per participant), until Friday of the following week. On Friday or Saturday I will update the article with the photo that has captivated me the most and I will propose a new topic, and so…
WEEKLY CHALLENGE 86: DOORS
This week we have a seemingly easy challenge, but don't be fooled. It's easy because you can photograph a door without leaving home. All day we are bumping into doors, opening and closing them, closing and opening them. However, it is not as easy as it seems, and this is what should motivate you to run for your camera. With that door you have to tell a story, convey an emotion or make me itch to open it and find out what (or who) is inside.
The fact that the theme is "doors" does not imply that there cannot be more elements in the scene that add attraction. In the case of the cover, the facade, the windows and the clouds enhance the door. If you include, for example, the human element at your door, it will earn even more. You can also play with the light, with the texture of the door, with what the lock hides (or shows)… And I am already giving you many clues ? . Now it's your turn to think a bit and when you go for a walk, look at the doors, imagine, develop your photographic eye ... but shoot and surprise me! oh! And don't forget to give it a title! ?
As usual, to participate in this week's challenge upload your photo to the Facebook wallfrom the Photographer's Blog: In the description of the photo, please mention the keyword “Reto Puertas” followed by a title of your choice.

UPDATE
This time I would like to highlight the high participation. Of course I have been able to verify that it is a topic that is liked… I am glad! Now I leave you with the usual sample, I hope you enjoy it like I did and it makes you want to cross the threshold or stay for a while "at the door" (never better said) ?
And this week the featured photo is… (drumroll): “Paso del tiempo” by Gustavo Alonso. From the first moment I have been mesmerized by the exquisite handling of light. The composition is excellent and the idea of photographing the door from the inside seemed really original to me. The next thing that has left me admiring the image for a long time has been the strength of the textures. Despite the darkness in which they are, you can touch the earth on the floor, the wood of the ceiling beams, the chippings on the wall and of course, that door worn by the passage of time, with that faded paint vestige of better times. The passage of time has turned the room into a lonely, sad, melancholic place, feelings enhanced by muted tones. Without being a black and white, there are hardly any colors and, nevertheless, the few that exist harmonize perfectly, among themselves and with the place, with just the right saturation, with a masterful balance that brings the calm of solitude to melancholy. But this place is no longer so sad, this space has hope, the hope that appears in the form of light, even the lock has been pierced by it with force! The door has been opened and the ghosts that inhabit the house are getting used to the light so they can cross the threshold and come out of their confinement. That open door has released the locked memories, has given way to fresh air, to new opportunities, to the possibility of a new life for that room, for that house. Maybe, from now on, it can be a home again. Congratulations, Gustavo! with a masterful balance that brings to melancholy the calm of loneliness.
