This is the first of a 2-article miniseries where in one we will present arguments in favor of the use of Photoshop, highlighting its advantages and its contributions to photographic art, while in the next we will present reasons why photographers, both professional and amateur, should avoid at all costs the use of Photoshop, due to the flagrant damage that it has caused to a beautiful art such as photography.
7 REASONS TO USE PHOTOSHOP
- Helps repair photographs damaged by the passage of time.
- Helps to eliminate unwanted objects, people or areas in a photograph. For example a pimple on the face, the famous red eyes, etc.
- Without it, many photographs would go to waste , due to incorrect exposure, lack of saturation, or any other adjustment failure when taking the photo. Photoshop allows you to correct a multitude of adjustments, as if we were going back in time, as if we were given a second chance to shoot that same photo again but with the lesson learned, and the result? The same photo, but better.
- Photography includes using all means available to get the desired photo: filters, flash, and why not, Photoshop too.
- The old photographers, the pioneers, considered today examples to follow in terms of the purity of photography, if they have not used Photoshop it is because there was none . Simply.
- Photoshop is an editing and post-processing program , a function that all digital cameras today come with by default. If you really want to avoid Photoshop then ditch digital cameras and go with an analog one. You can't stay halfway.
- People think that Photoshop does the work for you. lie . Photoshop is not a creativity automator. Quite the opposite. Photoshop is a tool we work with, but creativity and imagination are our job. If we lack imagination or simply have no talent, even if we have Photoshop we won't do anything.
What do you think of these arguments? I think they are CRUSHING arguments. Do you use Photoshop or do you intend to? Do you think Photoshop brings positive and valuable things to the art of photography? If you consider yourself a fervent lover and admirer of Photoshop please recommend this article.
