Construction and design
The design of the lens does not fundamentally differ from the previous version. Of course, some face-lifting and updating the exterior are present. The lens began to look in the spirit of all the latest "elek". But in general, this is still the same relatively compact white telephoto. It became four millimeters longer and just as thicker; the diameter of the filter increased to 72 mm. The lens comes complete with a hood and a soft case - a nice bonus. Like many "Elks", the EF 70-200mm f / 4L IS II USM is equipped with dust and moisture protection, which can be seen even externally: the mount has a rubber sealing ring. The classic USM drive is used here, which means the focus distance scale has not gone anywhere. The focus and zoom rings move smoothly and lightly. Manual focus ring allows you to sharpen manually at any time. On the side of the lens is a fairly large block of switches, which barely had enough space on the body. Here are located: autofocus switch, stabilizer switch, on-off focus distance selector (full range or from 3 m to infinity) and a three-position stabilization mode selector.
