Canon PowerShot SX430 IS belongs to the most affordable segment of the lineup of cameras with a super zoom lens. It is generally accepted that budget cameras give poor quality images. We strongly disagree with this statement. For the amateur photographer who is looking for an easy-to-use camera without extra frills, but with a large zoom ratio, the Canon PowerShot SX430 IS may be a great choice. In the test, we prove it.
The camera is small (104.4 × 69.1 × 85.1 mm), the weight along with the battery and memory card is 320 grams. Of course, she won’t fit in her jeans pocket, but she won’t take up much space in a backpack or bag. And the PowerShot SX430 IS is comfortable to wear around your neck or shoulder.
A form factor close to SLR cameras contributes to reliable grip. The camera does not slip out of hands; it is easy to control for an adult man, girl, and child. Ergonomics are well thought out.
The composition of the frame helps 3-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 230,000 pixels. Depending on the lighting conditions, holding down the INFO button can quickly change the brightness of the screen. Despite the fact that this is a budget model, there are no problems with cropping and evaluation of image quality in the field. In bright sunshine, it’s quite convenient to build a frame, but the picture taken may seem darker than it actually is. With less bright lighting, such problems do not arise.
The Canon PowerShot SX430 IS control interface is very simple. The camera selects almost all the settings itself, but important functions for fans - macro photography or flash mode - are placed on separate buttons.
I especially want to note the button for quickly switching to Smart Auto mode, the program mode or the last mode you selected. When switching, the photographer sees on the screen hints about what this or that mode, plot, filter does.
The menu of the camera is simple, there are few points in it. Date, volume, display brightness, power saving are set in a couple of minutes and only once.
