FUJIFILM X-A5: camera test

Acquaintance

FUJIFILM X-A5 is the next addition to the A line - the most affordable mirrorless family of FUJIFILM X. The new camera replaced the X-A3. We tested it last summer, so it’s interesting to know how much the new model has been improved.
FUJIFILM X-A5 is an inexpensive, lightweight and compact mirrorless with a large APS-C format matrix, on which you can mount any lens with a Fujifilm X mount.
Get price FUJIFILM X-A5 As with all Fujifilm cameras with X mount, the APS-C format matrix is ??used here. In the models of the A line, instead of the proprietary X-Trans image sensor, a “normal” one with a standard pixel arrangement and a Bayer color filter is installed.
X-A5 / XF50mmF2 R WR Settings: ISO 200, F2, 1/1700 s, 75.0 mm equiv.
The X-A3's Achilles heel was slow contrast auto focus. X-A5, in addition to contrast, received phase focus sensors, which should increase the speed and accuracy of focusing. We will check this in practice.

The X-A5 has enhanced wireless features: the camera is equipped with Wi-Fi and an energy-efficient Bluetooth module for faster connection recovery and background image transfer. Another difference is the new "whale" lens Fujinon XC 15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ. It is noticeably more compact than its predecessor and has a motorized zoom and focus drive. The camera has the ability to record 4K video, however, with a frequency of only 15 frames per second. It is unlikely that this solution in itself is interesting to someone, since the video will be intermittent. However, with 4K, both fast shooting of 4K photos and automatic focus stacking are associated. And all this we will certainly test!
