Honor 8: stylish, fashionable, youth

This year, Huawei released the flagship P9, which is very interesting in terms of photo capabilities, and the model with an increased diagonal of the screen P9 Plus. Both gadgets have top-end technical specifications and, of course, a dual-camera unit, which was developed in conjunction with Leica professionals. Huawei has created another device with two lenses - Honor. Yes, the Chinese company has two brands: Huawei for the masses and Honor, which is more aimed at young people, an active audience. For the first time, Huawei “tested” the idea with a dual camera in the Honor smartphone, in the 6 Plus model. So, today we will talk about the new smartphone - Honor 8. View prices and buy Honor 8 The device is available in three colors: White Pearl, Golden Dawn and Blue Sapphire. The latter was in our editorial office. In this color, the smartphone looks bright and concise at the same time, the back panel plays in the sun and glares. At the back, as is often the case with Huawei, there is a fingerprint scanner, but in the new smartphone, engineers made a smart button out of the sensor. It allows you to run certain actions: the inclusion of audio, flashlight, applications. The button is configured in the menu. In the Russian version, Yandex, News.Mail.ru and Odnoklassniki are launched by default, but everything can be reconfigured. The Honor 8 has a dual camera. Each of the lenses is equipped with a sensor with a resolution of 12 megapixels, one of the sensors is color, and the second is black and white (as in the P9 / P9 Plus). The only difference is that Leica employees did not work on the camera software. In this regard, some of the functions of the flagship device are not available (you can assess how seriously we worked on the Huawei P9 in Leica). Why are there two lenses in Honor 8? They allow you to combine two images into one frame: you can achieve more accurate color reproduction, expand the dynamic range and take pictures at close range with beautiful blur. The lens aperture is f / 2.2, but in the “Aperture” mode its value varies from 0.95 to 16. After shooting, you can change the focus point and aperture value, as well as apply special effects. The camera is assisted by an autofocus system combining contrast focusing and laser focus. There is also a two-tone LED flash. In addition to the automatic mode, Honor 8 provides manual settings, both for photos and videos. In Pro mode, you can adjust white balance, ISO, adjust exposure, and so on.

The front camera is equipped with an 8 megapixel sensor and allows you to make high-quality self-portraits even in low light, using the smartphone’s display as a flash. There is a plot scene “Perfect selfie”, which allows you to hide skin imperfections and enable various effects.
