Nikon Coolpix P1000 - “telescope” camera with 125x zoom

Nikon introduced the COOLPIX P1000 - a camera with a record optical zoom ratio: 125x. “Everything from lunar landscapes to wildlife to hovering aircraft in the sky is now at arm's length,” explains the manufacturer. The previous model of the line, Nikon Coolpix P900, had a range of focal lengths of 24-2000 equiv.mm (83x zoom ratio), and the range of the new P1000 camera expanded even more, reaching a completely crazy value of 3000 equiv.mm in the telephoto position. The aperture range is F / 2.8-8; the optical design has elements with low ED dispersion and super low dispersion Super ED. The zoom drive is electromechanical, two-speed. The zoom-back button allows you to instantly transfer the lens from a telescopic position to wide-angle to quickly find an object that has fallen out of the frame. The manufacturer indicates the effectiveness of the image stabilization system as five exposures. The Nikon P1000 mode dial has dedicated positions for shooting birds and the moon. When using the “Dynamic Fine Zoom” function, the equivalent focal length doubles - up to 6000 equiv. Mm (with a certain compromise in image quality), and if this is not enough for you, you can enable four-time digital zoom, bringing the focal length to 12000 equiv. . Nikon P1000 refers to compact cameras, in the sense that it is not a system camera with interchangeable lenses. What size is it with this size? Not the smallest, its overall dimensions - 146 x 119 x 181 mm, weight - 1425 grams. The diameter of the thread for the filters is 77 mm. Like the previous P900, the new P1000 has a 16-megapixel 1 / 2.3 ”format matrix with backlight. The sensitivity range is ISO 100-6400. The camera can shoot in RAW format (unlike the P900). The rate of fire with serial shooting is up to 7 frames / s, but only in a series of up to 7 shots. The screen is fully rotatable (although not touch), and the OLED viewfinder has a high resolution of 2.36 MT. Video recording can go in 4K format at 30 or 25 frames / s, as well as in Full HD 1080p at 60/50/30/25 frames / s. There is a connector for an external microphone, manual exposure control and output uncompressed video stream via HDMI. The camera is equipped with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, it can be controlled both from a smartphone, and from the new ML-17 Bluetooth remote control, or from a wired MC-DC2 remote control. Up to 250 frames can be made on a single battery charge - not a lot, apparently, due to the large zoom range, which, according to the generally accepted method, needs to be completely run between test frames. See sample photos provided by the manufacturer. Some photos show the camera “COOLPIX Q15035” - do not be surprised, as the model is called in the Middle East market.
