PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION OF MY STUDENT MARINA SKELL

PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION OF MY STUDENT MARINA SKELL

With more than 8 years broadcasting, more than 1,000 articles published in BdF, more than 9 photography books published, more than 3,000 students enrolled in our School of the Photographer, I still wonder, from time to time, if what we do, we share and we teach it is even useful for something.

The idea that someone might read our posts just to "pass the time" does not make me proud at all. Don't get me wrong, everyone is free to read or stop reading as they please. Except that BdF and EdF are two humble projects with which I seek to "infect" as many people as possible so that they feel the same passion for photography that I felt the day I bought my first camera. I break down when I think that someone reads our materials and does nothing to put what they have learned into practice. Everything that my team and I teach makes sense only when you put it into practice and give it a couple of noses as we say around here.

But there are also times when my face lights up and I start to believe that my effort is paying off.

There are times when hospitalized people write to me telling me that thanks to what we publish and teach, they feel a little less pain and loneliness.
Some have read one of our books or have taken our photography course, and have seen a fascinating path laid out before them that leads them to make a living from photography.

Today I wanted to share with you some news from Marina, a student of our online SLR photography course and of our Lightroom course who has written to me telling me that a few days ago she was able to inaugurate her first photographic exhibition with the title MAMA , a very serious photographic project that revolves around family ties. The exhibition takes place in Madrid (Artespacio Plot Point, Calle Ercilla 29), so if you live nearby I invite you to take a look at the magnificent collection of almost 100 photographs that deal with the subject of the human bond with the mother. Pure poetry in visual form.

If you don't have the chance to go to the exhibition or you don't live nearby, I leave you at least the video where you can see a sample of the exhibition. If you like it please leave a comment on the video to Marina.

Success stories like Marina's make it worthwhile to continue working from BdF and EdF to spread the love and passion for photography as a communication and expression tool.
