Removing Wrinkles in Photoshop

People always want to get good pictures of themselves clicked. Nobody wants to look bad in front of a camera. Nobody wants to show any kind of imperfections in front of the cameras. They want to look perfect in that photo, and as natural and as candid as possible. But even if everything did go right, there are some things which cannot be changed like wrinkles or dark spots and scars. But wait, is that actually true? I bet not. That’s because Photoshop still exists, and therefore we now really have a good chance to get some good pictures. Be it wedding photography or fashion photography, Photoshop is a real-life hack to get you looking like a doll, even if you don’t. No offence intended here. But, one has to be quite careful and even have the brains to use Photoshop in the right manner to get the right outcomes. This becomes extremely important as the natural element of the picture, the real human should stay alive in the picture. This becomes extremely important while editing maternity pictures or even photos of elderly people. No one needs to take photography classes to do this, you can go through online videos and you will be good to go. There is never really a ‘perfect’ way to do or go about any particular thing. Using Photoshop in the best way also falls in this category. There’re tons of information on how best to use it, but today, I’m going to discuss on a subtopic or an issue as you may call it. We will discuss how to go about to remove wrinkles on Photoshop. Some categories that fall under this or those that may have something to do with this are maternity photos or even photos in which people want to appear younger than they already are. Therefore, some useful tips to edit effectively and hence create the best images are:

  1. Using the brush tool effectively: There are several mistakes which a lot of people make while using this tool. For example, they don’t set the right amount of hardness of the brush or make it too obvious and making the picture look more like a painting than an image. Therefore, an optimum way to use this tool is to set hardness of the brush tool to the minimum, or 0%. And also, try to change the colour to suit the person's skin and make it look like makeup. Also, do not use a lot of this tool on one spot only as it makes the image appear quite unreal.
  2. Using the clone tool: Wherever and whenever the brush tool is ineffective in providing results, try to use the clone tool. Brush tool can not be used in places on the skin which have a distinct texture. Therefore, by using the clone tool, a different patch of the skin can be used to cover any kind of wrinkles. And therefore, save you lots of work. This becomes important while editing maternity photos.
  3. Use layers: It is always better to work on the layers one at a time and to make your entire work a combination of multiple layers. This is rather useful and a smarter way of going about things, because even after completing your work, you can still edit it if your client is unhappy with anything. Also, make sure you take down every detail of how your client wants his/her picture to be. And thereafter edit, Photoshop and improvise.
  4. Avoid over editing: As discussed before, one thing to avoid doing is to over edit and hence make the images far from real. It defeats the purpose of using Photoshop. By using Photoshop, you want to hide all the wrinkles and unwanted details. That's right. But the most important thing to remember while using Photoshop and one which every pro editor knows is that the photos should not appear to be photoshopped. That is the primary goal. And to uphold this principle, avoid adding too many visible artistic strokes.
Therefore, let’s edit and provide your clients with the best – edited pictures. Let’s summarize what we’ll need to do. Use the brush tool in the best way possible, avoid overdoing it and do not forget to vary the colours used according to the person's tone. Try to use the clone tool wherever the brush tool is unsuitable for use. Also, do not forget to edit the photos in layers. Also, avoid editing as emphasized before. These things become a lot more important for meaningful photos like maternity pictures which portray love, affection, care and above all life.
